- Expand background checks for young gun buyers.
- Stronger penalties for illegally trafficking arms.
- Billions to behavior clinics and school mental health assistance.
- School safety initiatives.
- Red flag alerts.
- Keep guns from domestic abusers.
Probably a good call. You can’t cry about police and leave guns in the hands of the irresponsible. But this also means the “responsible” ones will have more firepower. My longshot has been sitting in the same cabinet for years collecting dust. Owning a gun…it’s just not a daily part of most people’s lives. Almost as trivial as a painting on the wall or something, to be honest. I don’t like hunting either.
But the youth might get pissed about this. Making 18 yr old boys register for the draft would be a bit bull shit if they couldn’t buy a gun at all. At the same time, if they don’t pass a background check and still want to fire a gun, it’s likely they need some military style discipline anyway and likely need to join up if they want any sort of future.
AHEM AHEM….. Girls still don’t register for the draft-*cough*
^^And they shouldn’t, and AA needs to die

i don't trust the red flag laws, you could say anything is a red flag. it's very close to "thought crime" or "pre crime" if used inappropriately.
keeping in mind there have only been 13 school mass shootings since 1960, so this isn't a huge problem to fix and we aren't getting to the root of the problem anyways which is the media contagion effect

It's a step in the right direction. No law ever fully addresses the issue, and the discussion of gun legislation will continue for years.
It’s so stupid. For example the last one. DV would be a felony. If you’ve been convicted of DV then you are a felon and can’t own firearms anyway.
In the dictionary under redundant it says: “see redundant.”What will this new law do for urban gun violence?
You know... the type of gun crime where the criminal does not buy his gun legally to begin with.
