A black guy breaks in to home and attacks a white guy in his home and he shoots the black guy , what happens to both?

This takes place in a liberal city. White guy has never been in trouble with the law and black guy has criminal history that could fill a phone directory. Liberal prosecutors feel he has just had a bad day and white guy needs to be attacked because of white privilege.

Black Guy is given emergency care and a medal of valor , white guy is prosecuted

Black guy is not prosecuted but white guy is with aim of no parole , even though white guy has no criminal record

Black guy is set free and police shoot white guy

The key word is attacked which suggests the homeowner was forced to defend himself on the spot. However it could be argued that being armed with a gun meant he could have simply kept the intruder at a safe distance. There's also the risk they could argue you weren't being attacked but actually shot a guy fleeing or who had surrendered.

if someone breaks in to another person's house and gets shot, that'd be self defense in the eyes of the law no? i don't think race has much of a factor in this unless there's more to the story

The homeowner walks because the perpetrator broke into the home and was shot. The perp dies or is hospitalized and is prosecuted. Race is no issue.

If the white guy was attacked, he has every right to defend himself. Regardless of race, prosecute the attacker.
