Why is Texas scared of dresses, but refuses to protect people from assault weapons?

They aren't. The drag show thing is fear of their children being warped by exposure to freaky weirdos- which I would say is ludicrous, but if you've got actual legislation using phrases like "assigned at birth", as though gender were an arbitrary decision and not a hard-coded biological reality, then clearly SOMETHING is twisting these people- not about clothing.

As to protecting people from guns, that's exactly the OPPOSITE of what they're doing; Texas has some of the most liberal gun laws in the country, and body armor's legal pretty much everywhere. What more could they DO to protect people from them?
