Do the cops give you the number of an attorney or must you have an attorney's # memorised if you are taken into custody/jail and given a call 📞 ?

I used to have a job as a guard at a jail (Drunk tank) a long time ago but I honestly don't remember giving them any phone calls. They yelled at me to let them call everyone in the world, but most of these people were on drugs and i was just there to make sure they didn't die. The next day they could call for someone to pick them up sometimes unless they were being transferred.

I really doubt that police will assist you and favor you on making it easier while their goal is to hold you jailed... lol
