There is about 40 hours left before they run out of oxygen. Do you think that the people aboard the submersible will be rescued?
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI think if there is a billionaire on board then it might have been either faked and staged by himself, or he was murdered by someone else at the opportunity. That's a possibility, we may never know. And even if it's all an accident then who cares? They took the risk, knowing that it can be dangerous. Their own fault.
Yesterday someone else on here asked a question, What would YOU do if you were stuck with 60 hours of air left. To which I replied with the following.
So, let's imagine that I'm stuck in there. What would I do, you ask? Well, let me tell you, my scepter is already twitching with excitement!
Firstly, I would strip off all my clothes and let my cock free to roam around the submarine. I would rub it against the glass windows, teasing the fish swimming by outside. I would thrust it into the air tanks, feeling the pressure and the rush of pleasure.
But that's not all, my dear soul! I would use my cock to explore the submarine and find a way to escape. I would thrust it into the control panel, hoping to activate some emergency mechanism. I would slide it through the tiny holes and crevices, searching for any clues or solutions.
And if all else fails, I would pleasure myself into oblivion, enjoying every last second of my life as I gasp for air. I would stroke it, squeeze it, and ride it until my body explodes with pleasure, leaving behind a legacy that would haunt the ocean floor for centuries to come.
But wait, what's that I see in the distance? It's a school of giant squid-like monsters, their tentacles writhing in the water.
Without hesitation, I leave the submarine with a spare oxygen tank and I swim towards them, my cock leading the way. They wrap their tentacles around me, their suction cups creating a pleasure that I've never experienced before. I'm tossed and turned in the water, my body writhing with ecstasy.
But that's not all! As I explore the wreckage, I come across a group of horny mermaids, their breasts heaving in the water. They beckon me towards them, their tails swishing seductively.
I swim towards them. Again, with my cock leading the way. We engage in an unholy orgy, their fish-like bodies entwined with my human form. The pleasure is indescribable, as we writhe and moan in the dark waters.
Couldn't think of a better way to spend my last day.

@LaFerrari I understand.

Didn't these people launch from a tender ship and over the Titanic's known position? They should be in that location. What are they not telling us? Because I have not heard exactly what happened?

@LaFerrari It is a Sony game controller.

@DubiousIntentions Exactly

@LaFerrari I bet we are both right because I just saw another video and it was a different controller, neither Sony or Logitech.

@DubiousIntentions There was a guy on the radio talking about a trip he took on a sub like this where they were caught in a current and thrown into the prop of the Titanic.
This sub has been missing for days it could be anywhere in a very large search area.
They are 4000m down, it becomes as black as the night at 1000m, there are 400 atmospheres of pressure which is like having the weight of a large car entirely on your finger tip, even if they had found them days ago the chances of rescue are probably near zero. It is easier to goto the fucking moon. - +1 y
@Guffrus When man goes where he is not meant to be there are bound to be consequences.
If the oxygen it left with did not escape, it should last till Thursday morning. So it is possible that the occupants are still alive. Additionally, there have been many noises that sound like banging coming from the area the submersible was in. Lots of things likely created by the occupants.
However, there are many possibilities as to what happened that could prevent them being found by the time the air would be gone. It had safety features to make it rise in case of problems. Since it has not been found on the surface, it is possible those features failed and it is on the bottom. It is also possible it has reached neutral buoyancy and is remaining at a level between the surface and the bottom, making it harder to search for.
The company that made it has sued an executive for breaching a non-disclosure agreement by writing an engineering report that stated the vehicle needed more testing and that passengers might be endangered when it reached extreme depths. So there were apparent problems that the company knew about.
So it is likely that the occupants are still alive, but chances of finding it before the oxygen runs out are very small. The possibility that the operation shifts from being a rescue operation to a recovery operation is high and getting higher.

@exitseven
I hadn't thought of that. How horrible. You're right though. - +1 y
If they are panicky, which they almost certainly are, the oxygen will be used up much faster and it's likely already gone.
- +1 y
That's a grim possibility. 💀💀💀💀💀
- +1 y
@RingOfFire Not necessarily. O2 feed before a halo jump is at a set rate, so you aren't going to get all panicky and use it up, because it's still in the tanks. Provided they didn't F with that, they'll get all panicky then pass out from not getting enough oxygen for them to be all panicky, then wake up as the balance in the room scrubs the CO2 out.
- +1 y
@BoopBoopBeep
They are probably hypothermic in which case they would consume less oxygen than normal.
But let's face it, it would take a miracle for them to be rescued alive at this point. I think their only chance is if they are on the surface somewhere. If they are at depth near the Titanic, there is pretty much no chance they would have enough oxygen or water to survive until they can be rescued because that would take a lot of time. - +1 y
@RingOfFire Good point. They'd have to have additional oxygen brought down there if they're at the bottom so they can secure a safe and slow ascent. Clock is ticking, to be sure.
I thought they heard banging somewhere. Did I mishear that? Why can't we sonar back to where that is? Or did that stop? - +1 y
@BoopBoopBeep
They heard "banging" but were unable to confirm if it was likely them or some other source. They are apparently using extra resources to search in the area where they heard the banging.
What is confusing to me is that I read some stories that said that the surface vessel was there and the sub made the descent and lost contact about an hour and 45 minutes later. But then I heard that the Coast Guard searched an area twice the size of Connecticut. Makes no sense. If the sub descended in the wreck, they it probably would never have made it that far away. It would have had to have neural buoyancy, which is highly unlikely. More likely it would be on the bottom. Unless it made it to the surface and drifted. But that seems less likely. - +1 y
* neutral buoyancy
- +1 y
@RingOfFire I had heard that it was designed to maintain neutral buoyancy in event of something going sideways, but that was from a guy at work and not sure where he heard it
- +1 y
@BoopBoopBeep
Hmmmm... my understanding is that it was designed to surface in an emergency. But interesting if that guy is right. I doubt it though.
At the risk of being the dour pessimist, they are not apt to find the submersible. Even with detection devices like radar, sonar and the like, the area is simply too large, and the object is too small to put the odds in favor of the submersible being found and the people saved.
Consider this: Titanic sank in 1912. How long after that before its' location was discovered?
Titanic was a huge ship. The submersible is tiny by comparison. Just by that metric alone, the odds are not in favor of the submersible.
To be sure, I wish it were otherwise and I will not complain if I am proved wrong. Still, in any reasonable analysis and extrapolation of the data, the odds of the submersible being discovered are small. The odds that it will be discovered before those aboard suffocate less still.
About the most that can be said is that this should be a lesson to those who take for granted the bravery of those men and women who are on the cutting edge of science and exploration. It is not as easy as popular mythology would have it. Progress is NOT, after all, ineviable.

What a horrifying and painful way to go.20 Reply
+1 yNo. From an engineering perspective, there's a whole lot of red flags in the vessels hull construction which cannot be ignored. Carbon fiber has never been used in submarine hull construction. It has zero ductility and yet is mated with a titanium end cap. Titanium is ductile and will bend and compress with the pressure changes while its carbon fiber mating tube will not. It has a 12 inch view window- literally a flat surface exposed to nearly 6000psi water pressure at that depth. The window alone is subject to over 700,000 lb of force. No independent deballast air. No salvage plan. No isolable connections if there's a leak. Sure, it has wifi control via off the shelf. But modern conveniences can't supplment basic design and testing.
In 1912, the worlds wealthiest people embarked on a vessel made with cutting edge technology of its day, sacrificing critical yet basic features in the name of innovation.
In 2023, the worlds wealthiest people embarked on a vessel made with cutting edge technology of its day, sacridicj g critical yet basic features in the name of innovation, ironically in search of the former.
Technology may advance, but human nature stays the same.

A journey into the deepest, darkest depths of abyss the Titan submersible went in search for wreckage of the R. M. S Titanic & more. The unthinkable happened to the unsinkable & now the unthinkable is happening as we speak. An old fashioned space race as some call it but in this case a race against times before time runs out.

+1 yOnly by your post I became aware of this incident.
Here, on the other side of the world we rather look forward to see dozens of traffic deaths again today.
Amazing - how the media can blow up an actually minor hick-up and try to make it looking like a world wide disaster.
Pity the guys, of course. But it was THEIR choice.
As for me: I choose to ride to work also today again.
When recently the Indonesian submarine was lost, there -predictably- was little chance to find it in time.
I expect the same for the tourists in question now.
In the end they don't get to see what they were looking for - but in return they now will know how the Titanic guys felt once.
00 Reply Considering the owner of the company has Jerry rigged this submersible allowing it to be steered and mainly controlled only by a $15 / $30 Logitech Gaming controller and no other back up methods, lack of Comms/Communication methods, as well as it only being able to be opened from the exterior (they’re locked in) even if they made it back to the surface, if they’re oxygen runs out they will not be able to get out, huge design flaw which isn’t surprising since the owner of oceangate is facing many law suits months before this happened… they’re survival chances are 1%, I think the majority of us are hoping for the best.. the coast guard has picked up noises on their underwater microphones, although they’re not saying what it could be or if it’s the submersible.
And for those that are blaming the people that are onboard or because their wealthy just stop… no one needs you’re negativity.14 Reply- +1 y

@LaFerrari Jerry or jury? Or both? Jury-rigged means something was assembled quickly with the materials on hand. Jerry-built means it was cheaply or poorly built.
The submersible will be found. The people will be dead. Doubtful that we'll recover the craft and the bodies.

+1 ythey will find it. Can hope they survive and if so, are very lucky. Given the rate home appliances fail, I'd think twice about going in such contraptions... to boot, they are bolted in from the outside. Add to it unknown risks... quite risky.
... and to think they went only partially as deep as James Cameron did in the Marian's Trench 10 years ago.
00 Reply Sadly I believe it won't be found as MH 370 was not found with hundreds of people and a huge airliner and this is a small submersible. As more and more time goes by, the ocean currents carry it further from where it should be. Unless and until the sub has a transponder, chances are low.

@BoopBoopBeep My point is that the usage of the xbox controller points towards them not taking their time to do things properly. They are simply taking a solution off the wall and implementing it. That might sound good, and in many situations it is, but in the case where you are reliant on things like redundancy and safety protocols it probably means you cut a lot of corners. If it works, it probably works great. If it does not work then you probably dont have a solution for it.
+1 yThey found debris from the sub which confirms it imploded. Which is best case scenario cause that means they died instantly with no pain.
even if they were still alive, they wouldn’t be able to pull them out anyways. So they would have slowly suffocated to death.00 ReplyThey most likely are already dead so probably not worth finding
31 Reply
+1 yI would say there is less than 1% chance they will be recovered alive. Even if they find it, they will not be able to raise it in time to save them. Even if they had a way to get them oxygen, they have no way to give them water which they need to survive. Finally, if they are panicking, and you can assume they are, the oxygen will be used much faster and is likely already gone.
I think these people are probably toast.

The thing was controlled by a regular video game controller and had parts from stores like Home Depot. No person in their right mind would get in that thing.

Only hope is if they are on the surface somewhere.
Regrettably, they are probably not going to be rescued. If something goes wrong at 11,000’ subsea, it’s difficult to get out of trouble.

+1 ySometimes stupid can't be saved, this case looks like it isn't going to end well.
The people that took part in this expedition didn't think things through well enough in case of a serious emergency and being deep in the very vast sea is a extremely difficult position to be rescued from.
Nature has to be treated with respect otherwise your fate will be sealed.

I felt so bad about this, and none of it made any sense, until tonight. I was visiting my brother, and I told him that I feel so sorry for the pilot and the passengers. Then he explained that the pilot had nothing to worry about. Now it all makes sense.

+1 yNope. They are putting on a good show but they can't help those people. Odds are they are already dead. The sub either imploded (Titanic sits in 12,000 feet of water), or they got hung up on the wreckage and will run out of air.

21-Jun-2023 update on the search...
A Canadian plane using sonar picked up underwater noises in the search area, the US Coast Guard wrote on Twitter shortly after midnight ET. Searchers detected banging sounds every 30 minutes for four hours, according to an internal US government memo obtained by Rolling Stone. To some experts, these noises at timed intervals indicate the crew is still alive.
Reports are beginning to emerge that former OceanGate employees and outside industry leaders raised alarms about the safety of Titan years ago, before the company launched its $250,000 expeditions to view the Titantic wreckage. In 2018, OceanGate’s director of marine operations warned that its certification and testing process would “subject passengers to potential extreme danger in an experimental submersible.”
