P-800 Onyx missile on Southern costal city Odessa in Ukraine and Ukraine Air force spokes person said that they could not Intercept Any P-800 Onyx missile using America's Patriot missile defense system due to its Mach-3 Speed, unpredictable Flight Path and sea-skimming ability.... Now Indian's Brahmos is an Upgraded version of Russian P-800 Onyx missile... and Brahmos is a Highly maneuverable missile than the Original P-800 Onyx missile.

Now Can US Navy really shoot down Brahmos Missile? Specially if 3-4 Brahmos Fired simultaneously on a American Aircraft Carrier?

You realize America has had ICBMs that travel at hyper-sonic speeds since the 1950s right? For example the Minuteman II travels at roughly mach-23... The big issue isn't speed. It's tracking and targeting an erratic flight path. That's just as true for an American Aircraft Carrier that is constantly moving while changing speed and direction as it is for a hyper-sonic missile with erratic guidance patterns. GOLIS guidance systems are set for stationary targets thus a moving air field isn't easy to hit. GOT missile systems can be attacked via electronic warfare taking over the remote control guidance computer systems or via jamming the signal. Obviously America is putting a lot more eyes in the sky to sense what is happening so that hyper-sonic weapons can be monitor with sensor arrays for better intelligence to be used for target interception with air-to-air missiles, directed energy weapons, etc. When think about the technology America has had for over 70 years, take a minute to imagine what we have that you don't even know about...

1. Ballistic missile 2. Hypersonic missile 3. Supersonic " Cruise Missile ":

China, Russia, India all have ICBM Ballstic missiles even India's Agni-5 can reach up to Mach 24 in Terminal Phase, India can Test Agni-6 Anytime which can hit target over 10,000 Km with speed of Mach 24, same goes with China and Russia.

But Supersonic Cruise Missile is different, Brahmos fly just above the sea level with a speed of over Mach 3, It does many maneuver before hitting the Target, So by the Time any Ship and Aircraft Radar's detects it, Its already very late and they have got only few seconds to fire a Counter Missile and as Brahmos performs unpredictable maneuver So defensive missile has very less chance to hit Brahmos in 10-15 seconds !

Almost a Year Ago, India Accidentally Fired a Brahmos Missile on Pakistan, It travelled 168 Km Inside Pakistan and Chinese HQ-9 could not even detect it ! in Ukraine American Patriot missile failed to detect and shoot down P-800 missile and Brahmos is an advanced Version of Russian P-800 Missile !

I'm not confused about anything. Apparently you don't know how guidance systems work. Every example you are using is fixed on a stationary target like a building using a Go-Onto-Location-In-Space (GOLIS) guidance system. Stationary targets are easier to hit being that they can't move... Additionally for some reason you think aircraft carrier groups that are attacking from 600 -1000 miles away will only have seconds to react to something that is traveling at 2,223 mph. You might want to rerun the numbers on that again...

Again... I am telling you, You can fix a Better AESA Radar which can detect Targets from Miles but Again how will you shoot down? Aircraft carrier is moving but how fast that can move? 55 Nautical miles? maximum 100 Nautical Miles? ... Aircraft Carrier can't run with a Mach 1 Speed... So Brahmos can search and hit its Target even its moving in the sea, Originally its a Aircraft carrier Killer Missile So it has been designed to destroy moving Targets in Sea.

Similarly, 1. S-400, Barak-8, David's sling, THAAD, Patriot, are some of the World's Best Air defense system, India already have Barak-8 and S-400 and they have Tested Brahmos Ability against the Both !

America has a lot of satellites that watch everything... We can detect missile launches before they even leave the silo due to the heat bloom... In less than a minute preliminary calculations on where the missile is going are already ready. For missiles with traditional trajectories this is pretty simple. The problem with the new missile systems is the change of flight path. So more sensors are needed for observation and calculation needs to be rerun continuously to predict targets and to intercept the flight path.

You can track any flight path and predict it's target until it changes and then you need to recalculate it's new trajectory. I don't know why you think it's a problem to detect something flying 1 meter above the sea. For example Over-The-Horizon Radar can detect objects from roughly 1,250 miles away without any radar horizon issues due to the curvature of the Earth. Downward looking radars can track items all the way down to the surface. Modern weather radars can track 6 millimeter raindrops from more than 8 miles away. If it's out there someone can see it if they are looking.

I agree @rigmarole. The Bramos is a cruise missile, its very short range and not a hypersonic missile. It's about 30 years out of date.

Absolutely. Take a US Carrier group if the Brahmos was fired at it. The Brahmos can be tracked from space being fired and directed at the aircraft carrier so they know its coming. The Brahmos can be detected by USAF & US Navy AWACS radar aircraft. The Brahmos has a range of only 350 miles so even if they manage to get this short range missile in firing range by ship, submarine or aircraft the US Navy has fighter aircraft like the F35 & F18 which have an intercept range of up to 1000 miles to shoot down the Bramos or the any aircraft launching them. Then if they get past the F35 & f18s patrolling there are the cruisers & destroyers that protect the carriers to deal with and they are armed with Anti Air weapons capable of shooting down cruise missiles like the AMRAM missle and seasparow, they are also armed with LAWs laser systems designed yo shoot down drones and missiles along with the Phalanx 20mm gattling cannons which are designed to shoot down cruise missiles. There's is the electronic jamming systems. Them you've got the digital Battlefield which link everything together such as AWACS, destroyers, cruisers, carriers , f18s& F35s all together so they can all see thd Brahmos coming in and fire upon it at range even though they themselves may not detect it. The US Navy is on a whole other technical level compared to the Indian military. India is only doing stuff now in 2023 that the US was doing in the 70s.

The odds are that with enough Brahmos missiles launched they might score a hit but the Brahmos is too short range and too slow and outdated.

Absolutely the Patriot missle system is shooting down Russian cruise missiles in Ukraine. Fact is the cruise missile is something that dates back to ww2 with everything on the digital Battlefield that is satellite imagery, radar, electronics etc the Bramos is an East target. Its 50 years out of date from a time when the US and Russia sent probes to Mars with 1950s technology.

USA and India are really in good terms with each other.
Both the militaries conduct combined training sessions frequently to learn from each other..
Our technology is advanced than Indian militaries... but we have a lot to learn from them.
