Its shrinking. Coal is less and less used to generate electricity.

To be fair renewable energy is growing really slowly. Its been at roughly the same level for the last 10 years. So no good news here.

But in 2022 coal and renewable are about the same level.

So its 50/50 chance your e-car is being charged with coal or renewable energies.

or if you include every type of energygeneration,
40% natural gas,
20% coal
20% Renewable
20% nuclear.

And probably also depending on where you live.

I do indeed, and the lithium essentially comes from slave labor. It's why I won't own electirc cars.

There are many problems with electric car but bringing this as an argument just shows how little you actually know.
I am not saying they are the best and there are deffinetly problems compared to gasoline cars but this argument is nonsense.
If you would know something about it instead of just hating than you would know better.

Yes the electricity comes often from coal or other fossi fuels, but if you think a gasolin car is as efficient in energy production as a power plant then sorry.

The vast majority comes from coal. You liberals killed nuclear energy in the 70’s and decided coal was a better alternative. You chose it now live with it.
