Just a week ago Joe Biden claimed that he was not going anywhere. He had campaign trips planned and had no plans to step down. All of a sudden he completely backed down. Where is his strength of conviction? Where is his courage? He did not even put up a fight.

Nah, man, come on. This was just political strategy. Biden had a tough debate, and basically via judicial sabotage, we learned that Trump might be able to get off the hook for some or all of the charges on him, or at very least delays the trials beyond the election, and that seems like the point: argue procedural technicalities and don’t allow any evidence to be exposed to the public before they can vote, that’s blatantly obvious. Whether Fani Willis was fucking someone on her team has nothing to do with what Trump & Co are accused of, this is all just delay tactics.
Would be nice if the American people could get answers before being forced to make a decision, but there ARE two justice systems, the one for the rich elites, and the one for everyone else. Three guesses which one Trump is. We’re lucky we even saw charges brought against him to even ATTEMPT to hold him accountable. That’s not how the justice system usually works for rich people with power and influence.
So fair or unfair, Trump had a string of wins when it was looking like we finally had him nailed down to show the world who he truly is (not that MAGA people would care), and instead he got dubiously let off the hook in one case by a Trump-friendly judge, got his sentencing delayed in another and in possible jeopardy of appeal, they’re preventing other shit from even proceeding…and then Biden goes out and does everything but shit his pants on the debate stage🤦♂️ The one actually legitimate gripe against Biden that wasn’t overhyped or completely manufactured was his age, and he played right into the right’s hand on that night, and shook confidence in his own party.
Trump’s not some normal guy where everything will just go on and be fine if he gets back in office, this could change the way the country and the Presidency work, with a tilted Supreme Court that he selected a third of to back him up legally, and even though we can all see how shady it is, due to the structure of our government, we’re powerless to fight it, and that’s FUCKED. The idea of Trump corrupting the Supreme Court even further should be the only reason anyone needs to vote blue.
But Biden fumbled, and it’s never been more important to defeat a candidate in American political history, at least out of Presidents anyway. It’s about the agenda, not the man, and the MAGA agenda needs to be soundly defeated in such a way that it never gains steam again. So they had to pivot (incredibly…. I can’t believe I live in a country that possibly would happily elect Trump a second time, holy fuck, can’t believe this option is even on the table) and find a stronger path to victory, because we’re so, SO FUCKED if Trump gets back in there.
Kamala seems like the obvious one to be on-deck. I might prefer someone else, but again, it’s crunch time, and we’re simply trying to avoid a catastrophe, so whatever suit/pantsuit you wheel out there, as long as they don’t have some monstrous past, that’s plenty good enough, they just need to beat Trump. When Trump is gone and normal politicians are back in charge, which, for all their flaws, is all I want, because the DC swamp is still better than MAGA, we can get back to being more discriminating about candidates. Right idea to uproot DC, totally wrong movement and people to replace it.
So strategically, Joe had to remain in the candidate seat until the next butt was ready. You see this same kind of thing in sports with a coach on the hot seat. “Are you worried about your job, Coach?” And the reply is always “I’m the coach of this team until someone tells me otherwise.” They’re never like “so this is probably gonna be my last game here, y’all.” Just not how they do things. You’re running until the second you aren’t.
I do wonder if it was all planned. Republicans lack substance so making them waste messaging is making them waste everything they have. And Biden said he was only going to serve one term when he launched his campaign in 2020. All the billions that far right billionaires have poured into the republican media empire to attack Biden have been wasted while all the money poured in to promote republican policy was not. However, by their own design there hasn't been any of the latter. Its slightly amusing they have to start all over but still sad Joe Biden, despite having one of the best records ever, has to step aside because more than zero people want to vote for the guy who openly promises to be a dictator.

What the hell are you talking about? Biden fought for months, but he was having problems. It is true that he had trouble with his mental cognizance, but even so he was a better choice than Trump. He finally was up against too much when he caught Covid, so he dropped out of the race for reelection. He is 100% behind Harris now. Nothing corrupt at all about that. At a time that there were bad things happening with the spread of Covid, it was made a requirement for getting the vaccine by certain people, like those working with those most likely to die from it, like the elderly.
There are people who had averse reactions, even death, to many vaccines which worked well for most.
As for "Let's be honest", you should try that. Biden had been in poor health and Covid is harder on him than those younger and in good health. It is likely that that what was reported is exactly correct. And even addle brained, he is better for the country than Dumpy.
