Do you support the right of President of USA to kill USA citizens?

In 2013, Obama administration identified USA citizens as terrorists... and had them killed by drone attack. The attacks occurred in Yemen.

The attacks were determined by the executive branch. Granted, we were at that time fighting a "war on terror"... under that umbrella, anyone deemed a terrorist would be a target. Sounds justifiable... maybe?

If President Harris or President Trump decides a citizen is sufficient risk, do you approve of their right to kill the citizen by drone strike? There's lots of war going on... anyone could be a threat.

If they become enemy combatants outside of US soil, sure. Otherwise bounties could just be offered up to hire US mercenaries as human shields, write down your social on a cardboard sign and make it an international incident for any enemy. It would be the ultimate forcefield. Or skip hiring mercenaries and just have your own combatants hold those signs up as it would need verification.

You also would have hostage situations. We pretty famously don't deal with terrorists (except if we need Brittney Griner back). What if the order is given to go with acceptable loss rather than trust terrorists to honor a trade?

There's also securing, well, secure areas. Should US citizens be allowed to simply walk onto Area 51 or the armory of a military base? Lethal force is generally authorized there, the guards are armed. That is from the top down executive orders. The president could order all of them to wear bright pink and engage with pool noodles, though it would likely lead to mutiny, they could.

There's no such person as an "enemy combatant," they're either terrorists (criminals) or POWs; George Dummy Bush invented the "enemy combatant" designation to further his open-ended, vaguely Orwellian (more than VAGUELY Orwellian!!!) "War on Terror."

Governments CAN kill anyone - doesn't matter if they are democratic or otherwise.

We saw with Israeli murder of civilians and the US murders in Iraq. Legally you only need plausible deniability of it being an individuals decision and you're good to start shooting. It's why the news will tell you there was "no confirmation or denial" by the Whitehouse, or Israel regime.

It would not surprise me if democrats killed American citizens that supported their political opponents. Last week after almost 4 years the FBI finally tracked down another Jan6th protester. Thy found him in Lisbon , Maine which is a pretty remote place. They must have spent a fortune to find this guy. He was one of the people that pushed that bike rack through the door to hold it open.

To me this includes the ''right'' to send soldiers to their death, too.

Due Process is there for a reason. One man, irrespective of his political position, should not be able to order the execution of anyone who has not been tried and convicted beyond reasonable doubt of a crime.

If a US citizen is fighting for an enemy of the US in a war zone, they are subject to the rules of war. Other than that, every US citizen is entitled to Due Process of Law.
