I don't know him or his family, so I cannot speak to his specific situation. More generally, I think most parents are failing to instill an adequate level of morals, values, and responsibility into their children today (and many of those parents lack those morals and values and responsibility themselves). This must be done from a very young age and remain consistent through puberty and into young adulthood, or it isn't as effective as it needs to be.

There's no denying that he entered a world (the music business) that is tailor made to exploit moral weaknesses, and those who enter that business without extremely solid morals and values are likely to succumb to the temptations, very much at their own expense. It's a very old story.

It's nearly impossible to interrupt the trajectory of an addict once they've started down the road to addiction. In the beginning, it's always "just harmless fun" and by the time they can recognize it's a problem, it's already a HUGE problem and they are deeply hooked. Trying to stop things at that point is far too late - you can only wait for the addict to hit rock bottom and decide for themselves that they're sick of their addiction and are willing to do what it takes to get better - and HOPE they don't die before they reach that point, though many do. Many others die in the process of recovery - even after recognizing their issues and seeking help, the addiction remains strong, and often the damage to the body is extensive, and many don't survive recovery or the relapses that are common. Again, it's a very old and very tragic story - it's the normal outcome of addiction.

Even if you do an amazing, outstanding job establishing morals and values into your children, you can't 100% guarantee that they'll survive the temptations of the world unscathed - some will still fall - but it's by far the best defense against those temptations. If you do anything less than a stellar job, you significantly increase their chances of succumbing to those temptations, and many won't survive. It's really that simple.

What's even worse is that many harm or even kill others on their path of addiction. I've personally lost several friends to others' addictions - most through car "accidents." I've also lost a few friends to addiction itself. It's very sad, but once they start down that path, it's already too late.

From what I know his family did try to help him and he also tried to, he was sober for a while but relapsed. The journey of recovering addicts is very difficult.

I think similar things have happened with many who experienced fame so young, unfortunately. He grew up in an industry where these kinds of things are so easily accessible, even thrown in your face, and it's easy for someone of a vulnerable age to fall victim to many kinds of vices. Even for adults.

The same thing happened to Justin Bieber for a while, he met the wrong people who introduced him to many bad things and hurt him. Fame isn't as easy as it seems and not everyone deals with it the same way.

I'm sure Liam's family just wanted to support him and help make his dream come true, they wouldn't have wanted this outcome.

He was a grown man. Childhood trauma was involved but telling someone not to do drugs or alcohol doesn't exactly work.

I have never had kids but I believe a well trained child is clustered with obligations and standards and limitations from a young age so that when they become adults, they don't crazily do everything that immediate gratification would deem enjoyable.

I had people say I lied about not sleeping around and my answer is simple, I did not want to get pregnant, and was not going to risk pregnancy for 80 seconds of pleasure with an attractive guy.

There's so many things in every day life that could kill you. Hard drugs are bad, yes. But it's not a result of bad parenting. The chances of him having such easy access to those types of drugs is increased because of fame and money.

Yes there are many things like accidents that kill but killing yourself is dumb. If you need drugs everyday that means you can't live without it and you are addicted. I doubt his parents didn't know about it. They should have get him help before he succeeded to kill himself. There are many famous rich people who dont do drugs.

The whole world knew. He was open about his drug and alcohol abuse. He went to rehab for it. You can't force an adult to get help
