A federal judge has rejected a request to block the San Jose State women’s volleyball team from competing in the upcoming Mountain West Conference tournament because it includes a trans player on its roster.

In his ruling Monday, U. S. District Judge S. Kato Crews of Colorado said the Supreme Court made it clear in a 2020 ruling that federal laws against sex discrimination also prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, including transgender status.

No. Discrimination based on gender identity would be something like refusing to hire a cook who was qualified for the position but has a gender identity that doesn't align with his/her sex. It would be something like refusing to rent an apartment to someone based on being trans.

But the RULES for sports are that to compete AS A WOMAN OR GIRL, your must be of the female SEX.

SEX. SEX. SEX!!!

The rule isn't about GENDER IDENTITY. It's about SEX.

So no discrimination telling this team they need to forfeit. They're also not allowed to field 7 athletes and claim that two of them "identify" as being one person so that they're REALLY a team of six people. GTFO!

That depends on the individual sport.

So i would leave the debate to the professional sport organizations, who will decide the rules after rigerious research and studies.

In most sports you won't see a difference in performance between trans or non trans people.
