The pilot managed to land the plane intact even though 1 engine and the landing gear and the flaps weren't working correctly. But there was a reinforced concrete wall behind the runway holding antennas that usually get held by light metal frames at other airports. It completely destroyed the plane only 2 people survived.

Experts said there's a good chance more people could have survived if the plane could have continued sliding further. It is unclear so far what caused the engine failure although bird strike is highly likely. What caused all the other systems to fail is not certain yet. There is a manual system to lower the landing gear but it wasn't lowered. Maybe they didn't have enough time to open the hatch and lower the gear because the gear takes some time to fully extend.

Of course it is another Boeing plane that crashed and this same type of plane from the same airline just had to make an emergency landing last week on a different flight. So those will also be things people will keep an eye on.

It's very sad that the pilots managed to get the plane on the ground but in the end only 2 people survived.

I just ask myself how is it possible that 3 hydraulic systems fail for flaps and landing gear but steering hydraulic still worked.
I assume hydraulic backup systems are just exchange parts depots on those cheap airlines.

Yes I wonder what the problem was I'm sure they'll check it out carefully. I actually flew on this airline in 2019 from Seoul to Jeju when I was on holiday in Korea. And it was very smooth I felt like we were on rails. That's their main route that they fly every hour. We'll see what the results are of the investigation.

Looks as if the pilot had been fired right away - literally.

Shocking as it is... we all must leave one day. And if that happens in a quick blow we are spared from i. e. suffering from a disease for weeks or months.

I do feel compassion, though - for those who were close to the victims who now have a hard emotional time.

Let's wait for the complete investigation to determine what really happened. Speculation is not good.

It's a sad aviation incident... too many lives lost.

And please avoid blaming Boeing. Boeing planes are the majority of p, anes in service around the world. When an incident happens, probability says it's likely to be a Boeing plane.
