Yes, and a number of people observed that the wing flaps on that plane were not fully extended during the takeoff, which is needed to provide enough lift to get the plane off the ground when it takes off. There is an auditory warning in the cockpit when the plane is misconfigured like this, and if this was the cause it is difficult to explain why the pilots ignored the warning. All that is needed to deploy the flaps is the push of a switch.

Another possibility that occurred to me is that the plane was simply overloaded and/or the luggage and cargo was not loaded properly. These are things that will cause almost any plane to lose power and crash.

Yup. I actually saw a video of the plane take off and then crash. It didn't bank or go nose down. It just descended as if it lost power.
