President Trump said that if the hostages were not released by the time he was sworn in there would be hell to pay. All of a sudden Hamas wants to end this and release the hostages.

I think it's more lay low, rearm and regroup while it's disadvantageous more so than "end this". I doubt fighting in the middle east would end even if one particular group gained a hegemony there. The minute Republicans start infighting like crazy, or Trump is out of office, it's game on again for a lot of different groups who are "obedient" right now.

It isn't in their interest to keep that up, like a company undergoing an inspection rather than a buyout. When the inspector is gone the fall arrest harnesses and respirators will start gathering dust again.

He made Hamas an "offer" it couldn't refuse. Biden made a similar offer last May. Hamas does not want peace. They want annihilation of Israel. This is just optics. Israel will never agree to an honest cease fire. It is using Hamas to gobble up all of Gaza and will never cease that goal. It is also gobbling up the West Bank even though Hamas is not there.

And now it is taking as much of Syria as it can get.

It's all part of the Yinon plan for a "Greater Israel" that stretches from the Nile to the Euphrates, from the Mediterranean through parts of Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
