In your opinion, what does science tell us about Covid being invented in a lab versus occurring naturally?

I try to believe in science, but this seems a case where science keeps changing. What do you think?

While it has been a while since I looked into this so things might have changed and I might be misremembering some details. From what I remember the virus itself is undoubtedly natural with both a history of appearing before the outbreak and biological ties to bats from a certain region. The question has been if the virus spread naturally or if the lab accidentally released it after bringing it in to study it. The idea that it was designed as a biological weapon or that it was released on purpose is absurd.

There are a few key things that points to this. First of all we modify viruses that we work on inside labs with specific mutations to make them easier to work with and Covid19 does not have these mutations that would indicate it was being tinkered with. Secondly, Covid19 is a very fast mutating virus which is one of the worst traits you would look for in a disease meant for a bio weapon since the whole point is that you would design it and not have it change from that.

Aside from that I dont remember anything in particular from the viewpoint of science. I mostly just deal in debunking claims such as how its "suspicious" that the outbreak started somewhat close to a lab.. which is silly since its extremely common to have labs in major cities since there is where you will find people to hire for your lab.

The incubation was unnatural. It was a shame all the censorship back then, to hide opinions and doctors suggesting certain meds!

Even if they said "we are wrong" they should let us say an opinion but we were right!

It doesn't tell us anything, as no one has been allowed to enter those labs. Not that there would be anything there now anyway -if there ever was.

But it all detracts from Trump being the cause of the virus spreading across the globe. He dismantled the UN's pandemic response team that Obama had setup to deal with such an occurrence. He then peddled denials and lies about the virus even "being real" before it was too late.

Just look at the number of naturally occurring Corona viruses already in existence. They also did not need a laboratory.

Just because there are many naturally occurring Corona viruses already in existence does not mean that this one is. COVID 19 is very, very different than the others. This could suggest it does not have the same natural origins.

I did not read it anywhere. I base it on the fact that this corona virus killed literally millions of people. None of the other ones have even come close to that.
