More stupid than anything. Why just them? Japanese Americans were thrown in concentration camps with no due process, native Americans experienced genocides, Chinese Americans dealt with nearly slave labor on rail roads and mines, Irish Americans weren't even considered people sometimes etc.

Because it is a reminder of the unique and shameful way that they were brought here and what they had to endure. Something, the other ethnicities didn't have to deal with here (*).

Black History Month serves two purposes:
1. It helps remind Black folks of both what their ancestors had to endure and what they have accomplished.
2. Remind everyone else that Blacks - and all ethnicities - are an equally important part of the people that make up the United States.

These are reasons why "Black History" is history that belongs to all of us.

(*) Of course, some had there own hardships due to bigotries.

I don't think a specific race needs a month to be appreciated, naming a whole month in dedication to a race is already worshipping that race, I dont agree with any pedestal treatment, that's why I never celebrated Hispanic heritage month in school, it's all stupid, all races should be aware we are all the same.
