China comes out to champion Free Trade after Trump Tariffs. Do you support China?

Australians woke up to very funny headlines yesterday. China was asking us to join hands fighting Trump tariffs.
Few Australians have forgotten China imposing punitive 80% tariffs on us for advocating independent investigation on the origin of covid-19 and the WHO cover up.
Our collective memory is certainly long enough to recall last month. China sent a war fleet to conduct live fire drills under the standard flight path of passenger jets between Australia and New Zealand. The only notice was China ordering a passenger plane out of "their" zone
Are we going to join hands with China? Not bloody likely.
Weird that I read that opinion in an Australian accent. I always admired Australia for standing up to China when they tried pushing around their weight down under
Thank you for the compliment :) I am happy we were instrumental in getting a resolution at WHO to have independent investigation into the orgins of covid-19 though it got watered down to ineffectiveness.
China is a bad actor. They have even fired a military laser at one of OUR maritime surveillance plans from WITHIN OUR OWN WATERS and attacked our HMAS Toowomba as it was transiting the Sea of Japan to take up station on North Korea. Then there are all the Philippines gray zone attacks.
We need to reflect on the "peace in our time" compromise with Hitler in my view. Xi is visiting Vietnam and other SE Asian countries very soon but I doubt it will do him much good even though they will be polite. Vietnam in particular hates his guts..
I am very happy with these new tariffs :) The sooner China is back to the paddy fields the better it will be.
China in no way engages in free trade. Do you know what dumping is. just to give one example? Do you think cheap loans from government-controlled banks, currency manipulation, the use of slave and child labor, and non-tariff barriers is "free trade"? Does anyone really think that a totalitarian control freak regime like the CCP would ever engage in free trade?
Seems like the tariffs are biting but you have to be careful with what you see on you tube. Seems there are lot of empty factories. Asean countries don't seem to be giving the emotional support China wants.
Vietnam Is wanting to negotiate with Trump and be in strict compliance with not falsely being the country of manufacture for Chinese junk.
It is getting funny now. A belligerent puffed up bully ending up as a pricked balloon. I don't how they thought , a month after sending a war fleet to Australian waters, that we would hold hands with them.
I think this shows desperation. Going from full on intimidation in March to sucking up to us in April. Very funny.
I found out yesterday that one of the punitive tariffs they put on us in 2020 was only withdrawn a scant 6 months ago.
However what they did back they was to buy through middlemen. Like Hong Kong bought our wine and China bought from hong Kong. Don't ask me how that worked with Hong Kong being part of China - it is too inscrutable for my Western mind.
A lot of companies were eager to get into the Chinese market because they assumed a large middle class market would result from China's expansion and they would make a killing.
Sadly for them this was an invalid assumption because the individual Chinese workers barely make ends meet. So no large domestic market and exporting is all the Chinese have.
Of course other countries are not going to give up their industry and even if they they did this plan would fail since the rest of the world be impoverished with out money to buy.
Of course I support China and I will continue to support it as much as I can
And of course I boycott anything that comes from the US and Israel. I have cancelled my planned holidays to the US this Summer and will most likely go to China to help support their economy that needs it so much more than the US.
In March, international travelers to the US has dropped more than 10% and the tourism industry starts to be really worried and they are the ones paying the price for this imbecile megalomaniac that rules that 3rd world country.
can you cry harder about it, please?
I work at John Deer. There was talking last year of everyone getting laid off as the factory was being moved to Mexico. That's not happening anymore and they've actually recruited more people
glad you still have your job.
uh.. ok.
They care enough to insult me soooo
The stock market is recovering nicely now that the 90 day pause has been announced.
A lot of money made.
Nevermind. He said the China tariffs stay and so the market tanked all afternoon.

You mean "Trumps shakedown" as the so called "tariffs" are based on nothing but a Trump dream.
But so called "free trade" isn't actually free either, but it's a hell of a lot reliable than Trump.
Free trade doesn't work if other countries are doing it. How much does China for instance import vs export?
i’m an American. Why would I support China?
You make it sound like China & the EU has not been allowing imports of US cars into their countries.
Anything either government want is unlikely to be in my best interest. I have to live with US bullhockey. What china thinks does or says is less concerning then what happens to my 401k this month.
I always support China, it's one of my favorite countries, I love Chinese cuisine, culture and tradition, Chinese architecture is so beautiful, and Chinese girls are hot.
Fuck China and fuck Trump. I want to see Europe come out alright from this damn mess.
Lol that picture is fantastic and unfortunately spot on
Republicans: "Free trade!"
Also republicans: why is gas, $5 a gallon
