It think it would make more sense to see it as a sign of God's ire for how fucked up the country has gotten
If he was so devout, why didn't his god stop the bullet?
I wonder if he would still be a Christian and pro-gun knowing he was killed by a gun
I guess for the same reason that he let saints be martyred. I'm not saying Charlie Kirk was like them, and he definitely wasn't perfect either, but perhaps God let it happen to send a message to the rest of us that we need to get our shit together and stop the bullshit, extremism, and division. It seems only now after this happened are some people starting to see the bigger picture.
I believe he was slowly starting to change his mind on certain things. I personally don't think he would be so pro-gun if he knew his fate, the same way I'm sure he wouldn't have been if it had happened to someone in his family. And in fact, maybe he wouldn't have been so close to certain people if he knew that they would use his death to further an agenda of division. Goes to show how much they actually cared about him... Smh. I think he would have felt betrayed.
Did you see my other question?
It IS. There are people blaming Trump's rhetoric. Saying xenophobic things is legal, murder is not
Killing people who disagree with you, isn't gonna help them change their opinon of you
About Charlie changing his mind in a debate? Yes. I don't think I ever saw him changing his mind directly during a debate. After all, this guy was an influencer with a certain ideology, and debating is usually about winning your argument. To admit that another person was right during a debate would be like admitting defeat. But I do think he took note of some valid points made during some of those debates which I think is likely what contributed to a slow change of mind that we never got to see the full result of.
The main thing is that both sides are still blaming each other. I believe there is notable radicalization on both sides of the political spectrum, and at the very least hostility. People on both sides have planned or carried out attacks on the other. Some assholes on the left are cheering his death some assholes on the right wing media are saying "they declared war on us and Charlie would have wanted us to add pressure to them". At this rate we'll be close to having a new civil war.
Charlie Kirk's assassination was the culmination of boiling environment. We need to make an effort to try to understand each other better, instead of resorting to name calling, hating each other, and resorting to threats or violence. Despite the psychos, there are people on both sides who are finally seeing the need for a change in attitude. Like I said, it's just so sad that it had to come at this expense.
He had enough hot air for it. But unlikely. Let the man rest in peace.
