Why did he ghost?

I met a guy online from an app right before me and him were leaving for our vacation. We spoke on the phone for an hour and after he said we would meet up when we both return. After that, we spoke for two weeks straight while we were both on vacation. We spoke on the phone, facetimed, and messaged each other. He basically initiated all of this and asked to facetime multiple times and one time we spoke for an hour. During our time talking, he kept telling me I look great, that we get along, and that will go out when we are both home. He never gave me concrete plans though. The day before he was supposedly leaving his trip, he ghosted me. I didn't say anything bad and we didn't have an argument. He just never replied to my last text which I asked what concert he was going to for New Years. I know no one knows for sure what happened, but any guesses? It's just so bizarre... Thank you!

Error: we did not go on vacation together---it was our own separate trips.

It could that he is getting ready for his trip, and doesn't want to get involved with texting or having a conversation with you, before he goes away.

I have realised some people are rude that way, they don't responded to you at all, and leave you guessing, instead of quickly replying sorry I am busy, I will talk to you when I get back.

I would suggest you wait until get backs from his trip and see what happens then. If he still ghosts you, then it would be best to move on.

We had gone on our trips already and he chose to keep texting me first and sending me pics from his trip. He did a 360 and then just ghosted me.

I wouldn't have a clue, I would given him a week and see what happens. If you don't hear from him that point on, then move on.
Who's why he has ghosted you, could be many reasons for this scenario.
I wouldn't take it personally, people have all sorts of strange reasons for what they do, and sometimes there is no pleasing people, because they are out for their own selfish gain.
Unfortunately it happens a lot now, in the dating world now. Its really terrible behaviour.
