You could be out saving a tree or maybe saving a whale. Maybe just picking up last night's empty beer cans would be a start. I just went out and filled up the 35 gallon gas tank in my 8 Cylinder Ford F-150.

I started a Green Sanctuary Committee shortly after I joined a Unitarian Universalist congregation in 2002. It was a major project and we had to accomplish many things in order to become certified as a Green Sanctuary Congregation by the Unitarian Universalist Association. It took over a year. From then on, it was ongoing.
One thing we did was hold a special service every year to celebrate Earth Day.
Those included music. I organized and arranged songs several times, recruiting musicians from the congregation. A couple of ambitious ones I remember were Nature's Way by Spirit, and Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell. I played guitar and sang lead and had at least 7 other musicians including harmony and background vocalists.
I also delivered a couple of half hour long homilies over the years.
I also joined a local environmental nonprofit and was board president from 2005 to 2011. Our organization had success in promoting recycling, composting, home gardening, eliminating agricultural poisons and weed killers, and starting up the ongoing local farmers' market street festival. We held several educational events each year and drew large attendance. We collaborated with local farmers, ranchers, and with the local Indian tribe.
And we always did something special for Earth Day.
This year, I'm not doing anything special beyond enjoying my yard and feeling awe and gratitude for nature.
My wife and I own 30 acres of untouched oak grass land. It is on a west-facing slope. Our house, garage and gardens sit in the middle on a couple of acres. I treat most of the land as a nature preserve. There are foxes, raccoons, skunks, possums, bobcats, squirrels, jack rabbits, snakes, lizards, quail, turkeys, owls, and a wide variety of other birds. There are bees and butterflies in our garden, too.
I hear packs of coyotes on occasion but they don't come around.
Deer come to our yard regularly.
I do what I can to care for our beautiful planet.
I'm walking barefoot on the earth, feeling the soil between my toes.
@exitseven You may be right. ๐ค

I used to plant a small tree every earth day, but not this year.😞
Well, I don't drive, so there is not much else I can do... walking is good for ecology.
