Police are probably going by the coroner report. Coroner identified him as male just like his birth cert did.

And? The article just says it was a "clerical error". Police corrected it later and had to go through training specifically for cultural training to avoid situations like this. I doubt it had anything to do with the coroner's report

I am failing to see your point about "woke culture" being an issue when it obviously works both ways, and hell, I didn't even cover the thousands of crimes committed against lgbt that isn't trans. People being killed for being gay for example. It's far less where lgbt goes after heterosexual cis people. It's more often the lgbt community being attacked for being "different".

The bigger issue beyond ALL of this is that crime itself is an issue, agenda of either side, being put to the side for a moment.

There are a lot of things you can change about your body too. Trans people obviously modify their genitals and chest in one form or another. Not all of them of course, but some do.

An amended birth certificate does not erase the original name. The original entry will remain, and the new name will be noted as an amendment on the document.

Ok, that's not what woke REALLY means, nor has it ever meant that although the Republican party has worked very hard to associate it with what you said. So in that sense, they succeeded, but that's not what it means.

It was first used by Pan-African activist Marcus Garvey as early as 1923. "Woke" was meant to acknowledge the struggles of African Americans and was a word of empowerment for some Black people. It was meant to say "stay awakened to the social injustices and discriminations against the Black community." It meant wake up, stay awake, be aware; be "woke".

By 2014 it began being co-opted by politicians to be used as reference to "people who complain about everything". But it wasn't people complaining about everything or anything, it was STILL people complaining about injustice. Now though, the GOP pushed to make a mockery of the term, calling anyone who cited wrongdoing as being "woke".

Being woke is not and has never been "fake" awareness; it's real recognition of real problems, and politicians needed to direct attention to their faults elsewhere.
