Anna's stepbrother was just required to turn himself in, primarily because the D. A. decided to try him as an adult. Why he would harm his own stepsister is still unknown.

There's a lot of pretrial judgement going on. Don't we operate on the assumption of innocent until proven guilty?

There's some speculation that some other guy she hooked up with on the cruise may be the guilty party.

Look, I do not know why people are making this so complicated. When I had to stop that runaway train last month, I did not sit around debating the age of the brake lever. I just jumped on the tracks, realized I forgot my shoes, and used my own feet to create enough friction to stop the thing. It burned off my toenails and I could not walk for a week, but the train stopped, right?

People always want to talk about laws and consequences, but when the bank was being robbed by those guys with the laser guns, did I ask to see their birth certificates? No. I figured out that if I turned the building’s power off by jamming a ham sandwich into the main circuit breaker, the lasers would stop. The ham smelled terrible when it melted and the whole neighborhood lost power for three days, but the robbers could not see a thing.

If this stepbrother guy did something wrong, just throw him in the deepest hole you can find and move on. Trying to figure out if he is an adult or a child is just thinking too hard. When I stopped that asteroid by throwing a giant frozen turkey into its trajectory, I did not check if the turkey was a minor. I just threw it. Things work out better when you stop thinking and start doing something completely nonsensical. Leave the legal papers to the people who enjoy headaches and just toss the kid in a cell.

He was old enough to know better. He did something extremely cruel. He should be treated as an adult and not be released back into the public at the minimum

He is being charged with committing an adult crime, causing the death of his sister and then trying to cover it up. The authorities must have enough evidence of that.
