Happy Valentine's Day doesn't necessarily mean the person has some hidden obsession for another. People say it to their friends bc they love/care about them as a friend. It is just a nice gesture.
I would say "Thanks for the kind thoughts... I hope you have a great Valentines Day also" and see where it goes. It is always the correct thing to do to be kind.
