Wait what? 'HE'? Damn that's just plain wrong my friend! A lot of people don't really know but 'It's complicated' is generally a term used by a lesbian to show she's in a relationship with someone... (i.e another girl) I do know this for a fact by the way I haven't just suddenly you know made it up! It is a lesbian term... As to why this guys using it I don't know... maybe he likes someone as more than a friend and he's told them or is going to tell them, he's having difficulties with his girlfriend, he's just looking for or has someone who he just has/wants to have a *good time* with? It could be anything but like I said... he's a guy so he shouldnt actually be using it anyway... but I guess if You're not in that circle of things you wouldn't know about it... lols. sorry... I know this isn't much help!

There are so many different things that that could mean. Unless he were to tell you, then it would probably be impossible to tell.

He's still seeing someone but...not really... but yeah, he's not really single tho...but he doesn't have a girl friend...hmmmmm!

It means that there is someone, or someones, in his life but that they do not have a steady relationship.  Either by mutual consent, or because one of them has not decided whether they want to go out with the other yet.

I used to post that just because it was a funny way to say "I'm not telling you."  So in my case, it was meaningless noise.  But I guess it could be any of the other reasons people here suggested, too ;)

It means he either is dating someone or likes someone, and there is some drama going on.  It also means he wants people to ask him about the situation or he wouldn't post that.

Facebook is just a way to get attention from people that are out of your league. That status change is just to make people ask why, and make people feel bad for him. Basically its a sympathy plea.
