It depends on the guy really... I usually stay attracted to a guy longer when I have a feeling that he is also interested in me. I tend to move on or give up if my interest isn't reciprocated in a period of time. You don't need to approach, just show some hint.

Well, the longer a girl watches/observes you, the more faults they would find. They would slowly (or quickly lol) start to question why did they even like you in the first place. Attraction does diminish over time - at least that's what I think.

It really depends on the guy to be completely honest. Personally, I tend to lose interest rather quickly, unless you approach and start to entertain me with some type of intriguing conversation, or something.

Yes. This guy I found attractive definitely found me attractive as well- it was really obvious in his body language.

But he would not approach me. I would approach him and he didn't do anything to take things anywhere.

Maybe he wasn't interested, I'm not sure. But I'm sure he was attracted. I got tired of it and moved on.

I'm basically in the exact same situation right now i. e. the girl's experience exactly matches yours (i. e. I was the guy that didn't move fast enough). After 9 months, I eventually approached her but she just denied our experiences and says she has a boyfriend.
