It's a virus that is mainly present in West Africa. It has a very high fatality rate. It's become a "big deal" recently because of how large this outbreak is.
The signs and symptoms include, fever, severe headaches, muscle pain, weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and sometimes bleeding (internally but in some cases externally as well, such as from the eyes, nose, and ears). Ebola is spread from direct contact with the bodily fluids of an infected person. Symptoms usually appear 2 to 21 days after exposure.
The virus has spread very quickly across West Africa and there has been one confirmed case in America. However, no, we are all not going to die. It is a severe virus but most medical centers are equipped to handle and treat victims. It has spread so rapidly in Africa mainly because the hospitals there do not have enough resources for the influx of patients and have also not been adequately equipped to deal with the disease. They are having difficulty containing it, countries in other parts of the world are more well-positioned to prevent the spread of the virus.

in addition to what everyone has already said ill just add in the bit about mortality rates; generally it has a 50-90% rate of mortality although there have been reports that the mortality rate in africa has risen from around 55% to 80-90%. there is NO cure which is why the media has spread such a panic around the place, the only ting close to a cure was the experimental vaccine called z mapp which the us ran out of after the original 2 patients were treated and there is a 6 month wait until more can be produced. even then zmapp is not known to be 100% effective as it has only been tested on 2 humans ever, it was rushed because those two people were going to die anyway so why not see if it worked right? we dont know if those two people who survived using xmapp were lucky, just got a sufficient boost to fight the disease without it being 100% effective or were completely cured all due to that drug.

There was actually some fellow that made a very convincing case recently that the black death was actually ebola or something very similar. Can't remember his name at the moment though.
Here, try this:
https://bit.ly/tyfnkVEbola is an African-originating virus. It cause you to bleed from every opening on your body, such as your eyes, mouth, nose, ears, pores, excretory openings, etc. It also causes you to hate clothing, so you are basically running around naked and bleeding. Because the U.S. understands the concept of quarantine, no we are not going to die. It's spreading extremely slowly in the U.S. due to doctors who know what they're doing. Alongside the CDC, Ebola has no chance in America.
If you really want to know what's going on with the propaganda virus see video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZonCVRQ-2sWe probably have one of the best health-care systems in the world, I'm not too worried about anything too serious going on here.
Wow I thought that American students learned about this in science class I had to watch an entire video over it in the seventh grade.
Apparently it's in Toronto now... Ahh I'm so scared
That's what the internet is for. How hard is it to type in Ebola?
Wikipedia it
It's sores through bodily fluids and blood.
