Do you know anyone that has one? What type of fish did they get in them? How much more upkeep does it take to upkeep a salt-water fishtank?
Thanks for answering.
P.S. Guess the pokemon! :-D
I don't have any experience with home saltwater tanks, but I have worked in a saltwater aquarium on a dock over the water. I can't imagine trying to keep a saltwater environment healthy without the help of continuous seawater exchange. I imagine you would need something to keep the water cool, plus a lot of water treatments and salts. My guess is that it would be a much bigger commitment than a freshwater aquarium, but it probably depends partly on the type of fish you want to keep.
more cost if you want to have live rock, live sand & corals. corals add extra monitoring of water & may need a lot of light. if you let stuff get out of control it can crash quick but once its settled and steady it is only a little more than fresh due to water testing/maintenance. you can still do everything just like a fresh tank with artificial plants/rocks etc and still do fine for almost the same cost/work as fresh. fish are the same as with fresh in temperament & sociability
