If a guy stops what he’s doing and stares at you and gives you a big smile, does that mean he likes you?

So there's this guy. ( isn't this how all over dramatic stories begin? I'm a cliche.) Flash back to orientation, that where I first met him. He's a grade over than me. He was part of the club/ organization that aids us new students have fun and familiarize with Loyola. He first greeted me with a " Hey!" and a huge smile. I was confused because he sorta acted as if he knew me. Even my mom asked if I knew him which I replied no. Throughout orientation, he would greet him and smile but that was bascially it. I didn't think much of it. He was probably being friendly. And that was it. Classes began and I never really saw him again. I actually just forgot about him. However, this past month, I've been seeing him again. Or, lets say he's been seeing me. I was staying at the student lounge with a couple of friends complaining about our sh*tty lives and at one point, I was laughing so hard. My eyes closed, my head tilted back. When I stopped laughing, and finally opened my eyes, I caught him staring at me from across the lounge. He was stating at me intently. Like to the point that I couldn't breathe. It was one of those moments where everything stopped and we were the only two in the room. ( cliche cliche cliche) he broke the eye contact but throughout the time, he would keep sneaking glances at me. And now, for this past month, I would always catch him staring at me. Sometimes he would smile, other time, he would get embarrassed and looked away quickly. Like he would stop talking to someone and just stop whatever he was doing and state at me. And if he wasn't good looking and cute, I'd probably be freaked out. Anyways, he always sit by the benches outside leading to a building, and I would always go there just so I can see him again. Like it's been "our thing" if you wanna even call it that. He'll look at me and I'll look at me and we do that until one of us broke the contact. But one day, my leg was in sever pain. ( muscle inflammation, long story.) so I was limping. He was there, by the benches, and he of course noticed me. I was in a bad mood that day so I didn't feel like looking at him or whatever ( ridiculous, I know.) but this time, he waved to me and smiled. He almost looked sympathetic to me because of my leg. From that moment on, I thought things would change and he would finally talk to me. I didn't want to make the first move because I thought maybe I'm just weird and this whole thing is really nothing. I probably looked like an ex or someone familiar which is probably why he always looked at me. But moving on, after that, more days passed, and he'll continue to glance my way. At this point, I stopped looking his way because I figured I was overreacting. But one day, as I was walking to the student lounge, I are him walking to the library ( which is right across from it.)But seriously, I always feel something when he stares at me. It kinda leaves me in a daze. I'm always thinking about him. It's weird. I shouldn't feel this way but I do. And I could have sworn I heard his friends say something about me when I passed them.
