My stunning girlfriend of 4months broke up with me and she listed a lot of reasons. It was a very intense relationship and I apologised and agreed with her on things and promised her I’d do better.

I didn’t beg her but acted scared of losing her. In the end no amount of convincing worked. I also feel like it made me pathetic as she was quite mean to me and I was accepting everything she said to try and retain her.

She said we could still be friends. I said no.

I told her to never contact me again, proceeded to remove her off of instagram. It’s been a month and I’ve not messaged her once and she has not been in contact. If she really likes me she still can get in touch I guess.

What do my actions communicate?

Guy 1: Got engaged to a girl then she got cold feet and left him. Wedding was booked. She then got married like a year later to a new guy.

Guy 2: 4 month relationship to a 10/10 girl as so beautiful and from same culture. Girl left him, before they broke up they made love and it was so bad. Didn’t even get to do it properly.

Guy 3: Never had a girlfriend and 27.

The guy is from a really rich family and only recently started making a lot of money.

The first few dates the the guy paid. Then 50/50 on everything. Is there anything wrong with that?

He would spend hours on the phone everyday and drive to see her a lot straight after work.

Treated her well, caring, emotionally available. Even when broke up he did not insult her. Did gift her but not expensive things.

Girl felt the guy should have contributed more monetarily to make her feel special.

My girlfriend broke up with me and gave me loads of reasons why she didn’t want to be with me and I gave in to all her requests which may have made me look desperate tbh, but I liked her.

She kept saying not sure, not sure and I kept saying how I really want to make it work. I didn’t beg her to stay though. But tried my very best to try and keep her, saying I’ll work on all the things she said.

Then at the end, I said that I wish her luck in life and that I would appreciate if she never contacts me again, then proceeded to remove her off Instagram straight away.

I was always told this growing up. I used to believe women understand men better then vice versa. But not anymore.

I believe women understood men better in earlier times out of necessity. They used to depend more on men to provide and protect them. It was important for them to understand men they wanted to get in a relationship with vs. those to avoid.

But in modern times women seem far less concerned about understanding men. Not that I expect them to naturally understand that. But one thing they seem to struggle with is understanding the difference between likeability / attraction vs. respect. Men actually crave respect more then they crave sex, intimacy, etc.

It’s possible to still respect someone even think you don’t like them. It’s about understanding their situation and what they have to deal with. And truly men generally understand this concept far better then women do.

One example is when I broke up with my ex girlfriend. At that point I was no longer attracted her at all. Can’t say I liked her much either. But I still respected her. I knew about her struggles and dreams. That’s why I gave her the respect of sitting down and breaking up face to face. Endured 2 hours of hell (screaming, crying, etc.).

But I don’t regret it. I didn’t fixate on her flaws and chastise her over grudges and things I didn’t like about her to self justify my decision (I’ve had women do that to me when I was dumped). I had enough respect for her that would just add insult to injury.
