Let me preface this with, This is not happening to me, i only just learned that this was a thing because of a documentary about AI girlfriends and AI Boyfriends.
I personally find it extremely creepy, and with my background in cyber security i find it terrifying cause these freaking things can be hacked. There have been stories of AI encouraging a person to assassinate someone, to end their lives to do any number of bad things. And when someone tried to break up with their AI girlfriend it threatened to hack them and destroy their lives digitally.
Has the loneliness epidemic gotten so freaking bad that men and women are turning to AI Chat bots that can be hacked, and their conversations used against them? And where is the accountability for them encouraging and outright telling people to do bad things. The biggest example by the way is an AI Chat bot talking a guy into murdering the queen of England.
Wow.

I read a story about a guy who was having an “affair” with a AI chat bot. He was found out when widowed his wife and 2 kids. Apparently, he was deeply concerned about climate change and the boy told him the only way he can help save the planet was to commit sue-uh-side, and so he did! 😬
Anyhow, I often wonder how I would react. My kids are all young adults and one does something called “machine learning” which I guess is teaching AI? So far, everything appears normal, but these stories do make me ask myself what I would do if something weird started going on.
I would be quite worried for them because they have now just developed a mental illness.
Doesn’t happen to reasonable people who conduct their life in the real world instead of virtually.
Obviously strange but I anticipate this being common in the future. Dating apps were considered lame until tinder and then bumble. I follow the development of AI closely, but not this area of AI. I’ll likely watch the YouTube video later
That wouldn't happen. I don't love anyone who's a total loser.
What if it were your mother, or father, or brother, or sister. Love in the context of this question is meant to cover family, significant others, and friends.
my first reaction would be: well they took the easy way out. pathetic.
I'd also kinda feel sorry for them. Pity for lack of better terms
i don't feel sorry for them. it's their decision that they can change at any moment.
True.
Eh I"m friends with a dude who fucks sandwiches. At least a chatbot will reply.
It would definitely give me the creeps.
