Divorce rate is pretty high in my country but we dont have fucked up divorce laws yet it continues. I think its because people got the choice now to divorce today because they made a mistake and/or its just not working out which they didn't have a a few hundred years back or was very problematic eveen 100 years back.
The reason is that people jump into relationships too fast without really taking the time to get to know each other. Then they find out the bad parts about a person and find out they made a mistake.
Social Media Divorce Statistics Online affairs cause one-third of divorces. Facebook is the cause for twenty-five percent of couples to fight at least once every seven days. The social media activity of their partner has caused at least one in seven married people to contemplate divorce. Twenty percent of people feel unease in their relationship when they find something unsettling on the Facebook account of their partner.
Because people view marriage as being this special, even sacred step that completely changes the nature of a relationship. When in reality, nothing changes beyond titles and a few legal documents.
I think people also realise that relationships don't always work out. A divorce is just a breakup but with more steps. Provided children aren't in the picture and legal safeguards were taken, divorce really isn't a big deal, especially when its mutual.
People should wait longer, before getting married. By the way in a divorce the gender doesn't matter. The one who has less money and property, obviously wins. If that's a concern for you, do a prenup before marriage. Your points are obviously very extreme, but I agree that some ways we should treat women more like adults.
Most people don't want to wait it through and fight for a marriage. Also, a lot of people marry someone without considering their beliefs because that has a big play when it comes to raising children and how the household will peform.
Financial stability is super important to many women, 70% of the divorced are initiated by women and financial problems are the main reason for divorce.
Oh geez.. another troll. I know how this goes. First, you point out that things are getting better than they used to be, next thing you know we'll be in a discussion about why it's improving and how to make the future better than the now and the whooole topic will be derailed.
@DWD94 that is irrelevant to the issue and won’t change the divorce statistics. Not to mention the decline has been noticed since the 50’s and divorce rates have been going down since 1992. All that implies is that people marry smarter.
@Shutupman I read the article and saw a nice graph, and clicked on the Cohen link included in the article. It also has a nice graph. I can't find the sources for either, but they do seem to support that both marriages/year is declining and divorces/marriage is declining.
Nice, I don't want to graph that manually, but I'll find some points: Divorces/Marriage in each year:: 2002: 41.7% 2008: 39.1% 2012: 39.9% 2017: 35.2%
While I was mathing this, I realized that it's not estimating the number of marriages that end in divorce, because I doubt many people are getting married and divorced in the same yeah. Bluh.
- "911 what's the nature of your emergency?" - Domestic violence - Assault - "FBI OPEN UP" - Get arrested - Bitter wife adds something about looking at kids in a wrong way - Court - Most judges are females - "Ya goin' to jail, boi" - Get your rectum rekt in prison - Recorded sex offender for life after 20 years in jail.
More men are realizing they shouldn't get legally married. If a woman insists on legal marriage she is pretty much telling him she wants to steal from him.
People have an unrealistic view on marrage. Two people cannot spend as much time toghert without problems yet in out instant gratification world we don't want to invest effort into fixing problems. Divorce and or cheating is easier
No fault divorce laws increase divorce rates. Materialism and instant gratification mentality has increased divorce rates, people namely women seem to be very opportunistic about divorce.
I think feminism needs to stop, but men need to show they care more, and not just ignore you and shit;-; same with women, it can be both ways. People give up more easily nowadays, and I heard people used to work things out before.

You said it all.

You have a wife problem?
Yeah because I'm sure the only reason most women marry is to get money. It's not like we want love or anything.
Financial stability is super important to many women, 70% of the divorced are initiated by women and financial problems are the main reason for divorce.
@esotericstory Source?
And what happens when the novelty wears off and you realize you can't stand the person?
Statistically the divorce rate has actually been going down.
Oh geez.. another troll.
I know how this goes. First, you point out that things are getting better than they used to be, next thing you know we'll be in a discussion about why it's improving and how to make the future better than the now and the whooole topic will be derailed.
@Boppy just look up divorce statistics, they have been going down since 1992.
Divorce rate has only been going down because fewer people are marrying. Especially men.
@DWD94 that is irrelevant to the issue and won’t change the divorce statistics. Not to mention the decline has been noticed since the 50’s and divorce rates have been going down since 1992. All that implies is that people marry smarter.
If there are less people getting married, then logically speaking there is going to be fewer divorces. Its simple..
@DWD94 Well I guess the question then is "What's the divorce 'rate?'"
Is it % of divorces per marriage, or % of divorces per person?
@DWD94 If the rate is going down, it's as a percentage and not an absolute number.
@jayden888 It could also be divorces/year, which would be affected by the number of marriages.
@Boppy True. I guess a link from @Shutupman would be useful here.
it's going down because less people are getting married
@tonicandgin Bingo! On the nose!

@Boppy yeah most articles don’t seem to reference their sources, I’ve been looking. This is from the CDC itself. www.cdc.gov/.../...arriage-divorce-rates-00-17.pdf
Nice, I don't want to graph that manually, but I'll find some points:
Divorces/Marriage in each year::
2002: 41.7%
2008: 39.1%
2012: 39.9%

@Boppy hmm yeah, well I tried to find a good source but what I found was all similar to the first link I send you.
All good, I didn't find anything better either.
Jeez, why not just slap a bitch back to her senses.
"I want a divorce."
*slap*
"What was I thinking? I love you"
Problem solved.
> "I want a divorce."

@Metallsturm Well, you are doing it wrong.
Yeah you let her use the phone when clearly she needs more slapping.

it's skeezy bitches. there is no doubt about that! there are skeezy men too, so don't call me a sexist.

70-80% of divorces are filed by women. Thus divorce rates are so high because of women.
I would change the question ultimately to... Thoughts on our society, and education of values being so poor?
The divorce rate is probably high because people don't always know what they're getting into when they get married
Also, we are a quick fix society. Anything that takes work we give up on.
