Do Guys like to stay alone when they are upset?

Every time that me and my guy have a fight, he likes to be left alone.He will always isolate himself even if he is upset over other matters.This really annoys me at times because I want to show him my concern.Is this a natural behavior? Do all guys like to be alone when upset and why?

Guys and girls do this. It's a natural way of thinking for humans in general to seclude themselves after a big emotional battle. It makes us feel more safe, and unjudged because no one is there to look or say something. It gives a moment of quiet to think over things throughly and personally. To straighten out jumbled thoughts.

If you really want to show him you care when he does this, just go up to him a little slower than causal and hug him. Make him lay his head on you and just hold him for a while, not sayign anything. Sometimes words aren't enough to express concern, especially if that person has just been through an emotional tornado. If he rejects you, just let it go because getting mad about it won't do anything but make it worse for him. This is a time to be selfless, and just try to be understanding.

Not sure I agree that it's a Mars / Venus thing because either when I am upset about something, or a couple of days before my period or simply crave for my personal space, I so want to be left alone. There were times I did hurt people by saying something hurtful when I was overreacting about nothing. When that hapens, I need a moment or two to reconnect to my own feelings/emotions before I am ready to exit from my 'cave' again.

I've been told many times I am a man in a woman's body so there. :-)

This is one of those Mars/Venus things. Speaking for myself, I want to be left alone to run whatever is going on through my head and sort it out. Then I may want to bounce some solution(s) off my partner to get another's point of view.

However, you're speaking about a boyfriend who wants to be left alone after you guys have been fighting. He's obviously reached a point in the arguement where he thinks that there's no point arguing any longer OR where he's getting so angry that he may say something that he'll regret. Both situations require a cooling down period.

What happens after he has had his time alone?

In my case, whenever I become frustrated, angry, upset etc. I always want to be left alone. It is because I don't want to burden anybody else with my problems and at the time I believe I can solve it on my own. Of course I know you can't solve all your problems on your own but I still do it anyway. Also when I am thinking long and hard about something my sister/gf/friends think I am pissed off at them, which is so not true.

My advice is to give him his space. Pressuring him into being more in tune with his feelings will do more harm than good.

I think it's pretty natural. As for why guys do it, I think we're just less expressive than women, so while you might want to deal with it one way, a guy wants to deal with it another way.

not just guys even some girls , its the nature of most people because they think its not gonna help and make them feel worse .
