You know those relationship arguments that don't end things between you but rather makes you resent the other person for their stance in the first place. In other words those petty arguments we have with each other in coupledom. But even after you break up, you still haven't had your say about it to your satisfaction. Example: I've been arguing my side of an old fight about Bikinis with my Ex in my head for the last 30 minutes or so. (I broke up with her 8 years ago dammit! I shouldn't be having this argument anymore.)

No, I don't do that. Relatively soon after a breakup, I try to put the relationship in the past and look to the future and start working on finding a better partner. I still occasionally will remember some of the most distressing disagreements we had, but I don't think I've ever tried to re-argue them in my head. I don't see where that would help anything anyway. If I couldn't convince her when I was talking with her, I'm sure not going to be able to convince her when she's not even around.

On rare occasions, it's possible that I might explain to a new partner about a disagreement with a prior partner just so they're aware of it, but that would be a summarized version of my argument and her argument and I wouldn't do it repeatedly. I just don't see where there's anything to be gained from that.
