I think it depends on the subject material he is bringing up. I'm quite a bit older, and I've had a few more relationships including a marriage. Some of those relationships defined me, and had a major impact on the journey I've traveled including how I am in relationships.
There are times you really can't discuss a subject without bringing up an ex, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. As long as there's a clear separation in their mind and they're not having regrets or fantasizing about them, then I can't see anything wrong with it. Most relationships I've had, there has been talk of my ex and her ex. For your boyfriend and his ex, they crossed a major milestone together by losing their virginity.
if it bothers you, make sure to talk to him about it. That goes for everything. Communication is key. He may simply be trying to be open and honest with you and discussing her and you should do the same. Good luck! Congrats on the baby!
2 years is a little bit long to keep bringing up an ex. But i think it also depends on the context. If it's like "Me and my ex uses to cook stir fry all the time" there is something off.
