As a dumpee do you contact your ex?

Question

I think as a dumpee we should cut all contact with the dumper. As a dumpee do you make an effort to talk to your ex. I would like to hear from non mutual breakups. I feel if there is to be a conversation the dumper has to start it.

all depends!

my ex broke up with me..and at first I did all the 'i miss you' etc etc...the stupid stuff you do when you feel helpless in the few first weeks.

i then didn't talk to him for a while...but then saw him at a friends mutual bday...where we started talking and ended up kissing and hugging again..acting like normal.

from there we started tlking again..on and off...

i feel as if he stil hears from me...and he has him me on his mind..he may feel more comfortable and I might not be so forbidden to him. he then started txting me first here and there (I didn't feel so one sided anymre)

but this alllllllllll iss because I wld do anythng to get him back as I believe our breakup issue is minor and can be worked out

if you are OK with the fact its over...dont put yourself through anymre pain with talking to them..

if not (like me) do wht feels right. I look at it as although it hurts to wonder whether you are gonna hear from him tht week..or should I text him?...im willing to go through all those crappy feelings knowing I cld possibly get him bak!

It depends on who treated who badly. The dumper might have dumped you because she had no choice. In my case, my ex turned out to be a pure narcissist and he doesn't even listen. I had to leave to save myself.

If she's wrong, don't even think about contacting her. just move on.

Do whatever your heart tells you to do. Unfortunately, once the relationship has been severed, it's now a battle of egos. Only contact her now if you're sure that finding out if it can be salvaged is worth the risk to your ego of her potentially not wanting to get back together.

I didn't for a very long time. And then when I made the mistake of looking at her ySpace page (this was 5 years ago) I saw a blog she wrote about "how to forgive yourself" and sent her a long, long nasty email about why she didn't deserve forgiveness. I signed it with "You're a selfish c*nt"

Just recently we started chatting again occasionally. I initiated it. She's married now.

The other two exes I have, I dumped. Both tried communicating with me first.

If you don't really care they dumped you, then don't contact them at all 1st. let them start any contact. If you think you can get them back be my guest but its usually unlikely unless they still hav feeelings. And if you can't stand them for dumping you, don't even respond to them if they contact you. Playing hard to get is what I did when a guy dumped me once. so funny

No WAY! IF I get dumped, then I do not initiate contact with them, if they want to contact me then that's fine, but I doubt I will ever get back with them again.
