I've been with my boyfriend for about a year or so. We have had a happy relationship with no major arguments. He is a nice guy.
Recently, I don't know what prompted me to check his phone, and when I did, I was petrified. I saw the text between my boyfriend and one of his buddy. I always knew that this particular buddy of my boyfriend had always tried to hook him up with girls. And I'm glad for most of the time, my boyfriend would call his buddy crazy for doing so. However, coming back to the text, I saw this conversation about his buddy trying to hook him up with this girl named Joanne. His buddy texted my boyfriend : I have a surprise for you! Come out tonight! My boyfriend replied: I cant. I'm with my girlfriend tonite. And they exchanged a couple more messages and I can't remember exactly what they were. THen my boyfriend replied to one of his buddy's text saying: Please tell her I miss her... From the messages, it is pretty obvious my boyfriend is referring to Joanne!
Why would he do that? why would he say he misses her? And given the circumstances and the entire conversation, I know the text cannot be construed to mean missing in a friendly way! I'm upset because my boyfriend hardly ever says he misses me or says he loves me. I always assumed that he don't like saying it, he'd rather show it. And that is why I was petrified to see such a message coming from HIM!
I don't know if I'm being suspicious for no reason or should I be angry. I am experiencing mix feelings...On one hand, I really want to trust my boyfriend but on the other hand, the text seem to suggest otherwise! My boyfriend jokingly said he believes in "having 'fun' provided you don't get caught". So I don't know if he's cheating on me or am I just being ridiculous...Please advise!
