Could this mean my boyfriend is cheating?

So the other day, it was my boyfriends birthday. We dressed up nice and went out. He wanted me to take pictures of him by himself. He has a iPhone 12 Pro, I have the 11. I know he has a better camera than me with his phone being more updated and plus they’re his pictures so they’ll already be in his phone when he decides to post them. When he asked for me to take pictures of him I put my hand out for him to hand me his phone to do so and he got somewhat defensive and said “Umm you have your phone don’t you?” And when I told him exactly what I just said about his phone being newer, having a better camera and it making more sense to use his phone because they’re his pictures and I know he’s gonna post them, he thought about what I said, unlocked his phone and did something with it before handing it to me. Next thing I know as I’m taking pictures, the messages on his phone popped up but to where you could only see the contact name of the person messaging him, nothing more. I’m not saying I was trying to see the messages but he did scrabble around with his phone before handing it to to me. I believe that he changed his iMessage settings to that before handing me the phone and he wouldn’t do that for any reason. On top of that, I can’t forget how defensive he was over me taking the pictures with his phone instead.

It is really hard to say, but honestly if you having these types of feelings and anxieties about it then there is good chance he's not the one for you.

I am 45 and I have been in loved three times in my life, and I have probably dated over 20 women. Married once, but every time I knew I had meant that someone special it was easy and I never had any doubts. Sure I dated people I had doubts about, but they where there and available so I let things run it normal course before I found someone else. So trust your instincts.

Sounds like he os cheating to me if he is acting shady , and being protective of his phone , that is a huge red flag honestly

Well he’s cheated in the past. At the time we were on and off but I knew had I talked to or interacted with another guy even if we were on and off at the time he would have had a reaction to it, probably worse than me when I found out he was talking to and was intimate with another woman while we were on and off but we were still intimate as well. He literally answered the phone for her around me and knew I could hear her voice. When I reacted to it his excuse was “You can’t just assume we’re in a relationship and we’re always on and off. I’m not with all of that confusing stuff. That’s the reason I do dumb things like this in the first place.” And that hurt and when I said “Had I talked to another guy around you like you did you would have lost it.” And his response was “You know better.” I left him and blocked him for weeks until he apologized and swore he wouldn’t do it again if I gave him a second chance but it seems as if he’s doing it again anyway
