Dearest @brainsbeforebeauty, most of my break-ups were us both just wanting different things, and going in different ways. We parted as friends, and stayed in touch, for a while. With the few, Bad Break-ups, there wasn't time to think, and ask these questions, and it was just sudden, like cheating, and that ending it! You are obviously a VERY Thoughtful person, and maybe these questions are good, but for break-ups, different than I have known. Honestly, I don't think about a lot of these things, as a guy. One ends, and maybe a month or two, and meeting someone new?  Nobody, YET, that has been WORTHY of my long-term time. I have a lot to offer, and sooooo many have nothing but looks or sex, or, well, looks, and sex.

I so wish that every couple would go through marriage counseling, before they marry. These questions actually do come up in the per-marriage counseling. There has been many a couple who have called a wedding off, because of what they learned during their counseling. Others have grown stronger, and become even closer; they normally will never divorce, as they have gained important tools to help them to now let the sun go down on their anger, but rather talk things out, and grow more in love with one another.

It’s important to put yourself in the other person’s shoes. I think people too often expect people to be mind readers. Also in this digital age people no longer know how to communicate and use digital communication (which is wayyyyy too easy to misconstrue) too much.

The only way I break off a relationship is if I am cheated on or if I am treated like complete shit by her and affection and sex dies , then I feel like their is no point in saving it

Good take. Most of the people do not bother to extract valuable lessons from failed relationships.

Redflags are always there at beginning, but they just ignore and pay the price later on (months or even years after).

All I learned from break ups is that no matter what you do, you can't make a person love.

Once they made a decision its over, if it is taking time it's not because they still care it's because they're trying to find the right way to end it.

None of this question. I just asked one question some time afterwards how could I be so damn dumb to even be with that person?
The answer is very simple, I wasn't thinking with my brain in the head back at that time.
Then someday I grew up and realised why every single relationship ended, I am too messed up in my head and sick of people always telling me what to do and not what to do.
Still have some schmucks left but less than before.
When someone drives you so insane that you feel forced away you know that you can't be too close to that person for to long otherwise you ain't gonna manage to survive.
