To end in "good terms" but he tells me he misses me?

I ended a relationship because he went to other country to study. We got an amazing breakup: full of good wishes and open to keep in touch and being friends.

I have been very firm, sending memes sometimes and given him a call, but not a daily talk as we used to. He has been gone for almost 2 months and sometimes he tells me how bad he misses me, but that ends always me telling him I miss him too and then noting. like we can't change our situation as an ex couple because of his studies, but having this feeling of "not leting go" but also don't saying a word later.

I'm confuse. How should I react?

Aw that barely a breakup he just had to move. You were extremely close and now you have to face the reality. Personally I don’t think this is a reason to pursue others. I think he will be back very soon and you are still so close. No reason for breakup. But then again there was no reason for him to move abroad. So when will there be any importance

I'm sorry, I did not see your reply. Thanks for sharing... The thing is that he Is not going back. I'm from Latin America and he Is from the States, His plan is to study a masters and the start a long term project in his hometown. Thats why I felt weird when he told me that: there are no plans for the future and I'm trying to "let it go" and be friends, but those words confuses me... 😬
