I can talk to them almost weekly since we're still in touch... but we're not big on birthdays, so we just rarely mention them... lol, and this has been ongoing for years and years

If by chance, I saw an ex (who's still a friend) unplanned, I'd greet him if I remember his birthday. In the year prior to my wedding, I kindly asked my exes, who've been consistently greeting me for my birthdays throughout the years, to stop greeting.
