Should I wish my ex Happy Birthday?

We broke up a little 4 months ago after being together for almost 5 years and I haven't spoken to him in almost 3 months. We didn't end on bad terms...it's just that things didn't work out for us as a couple...no cheating, violence or anything like that. The last time we spoke, he was expecting me to call him to come over, but I never did because I wanted to get over him and I didn't want to hear him tell me how well he's doing without me in his life. Since I never called, he never called to wonder why I didn't so I just let it go.

Anyway, his birthday is coming up and I want to send just a simple email that said "Happy Birthday, I hope you're spending time with the people you love". No text or calls because I deleted his number and don't have it memorized. I want to because he has always said that birthdays don't mean anything to him, but I don't want to break my #1 rule, which is no contact until I'm over him.

What should I do? Could use advice from both genders.

I would message him if I wanted to get back together with him or if I felt bad about the breakup. I think I stopped messaging my ex's about their birthdays once I found someone I was interested in. Personally I probably would do it because I am always bad at these things and make the wrong decisions so probably don't do it.

I think that because there are no hard feelings between you two then it would be nice to let him know that you two can still be friends even though it's been a while. I would say "Happy birthday! Wow. It's been a while. What have you been up to?"

Say Happy Birthday, don't make it too long but be friendly about it.

Would you like to get back with him or not?

Because, unless you are very clear about it in your mind and ready to say things simply to him in a straightforward way if he asks you, you shouldn't get backnin touch with him.

i don't agree at all , it doesn't mean she wants him back , its just a nice thing to say on a special day t oa person who once meant a lot to you just say '' happy birthday , hope you have a great day '' don't say '' I hope your spending time with the people you love '' some people may interpret it the wrong way , hope this helps :)

Well if she doesn't want him back why wish him a happy birthday their relationship didn't work forna reason? And most people would think that she waited for an opportunity to get back in contact with him, and maybe he won't appreciate it if he still wants her back and she doesn't want him?
