I will admit that I was abusive toward my now ex girlfriend. She’s been an ex for a month now. I would hit her and verbally, mentally and I guess you can say emotionally abuse her as well. I wasn’t/I’m not proud of it but violence was all I knew growing up and it didn’t help that I witnessed my mother be abused in the same way as a child. I’ve always had a toxic lifestyle and toxic girlfriends who would hit me as well, but she was different. She was kind, sweet giving etc but I was so use to the opposite so I treated her like crap. She forgave me many times but a month ago, she left me for good. She changed her number and blocked me from all social media. I noticed that she unblocked me today on Facebook/messenger because it showed that she was active. It’s been a month since I’ve heard from her because like I said she blocked some from contacting her in anyway. It’s been an entire day since I noticed she has unblocked me but she has yet to message me. I got happy thinking it meant something but I suppose it didn’t. Maybe she just did it because she’s not holding a grudge but she also still wants nothing to do with me.

you need to stop the cycle of abuse you endured and stop the abuse you give. im glad you admit it, that’s the first step. there is always therapy, and i know not many men typically want to go to therapy for a multitude of reasons, but sometimes they need it if they want to change. i think it would be beneficial not only for you, but for your future partners.


if you want to get back with her, you need to prove it. you can’t apologize, apologize, apologize. actions need to happen and when you feel escalated, you need to take a breather and shut your mouth and walk away from the situation. you cannot let this anger override every part of you.


i don’t know if she forgives you, because she only unblocked you from one source of social media. you need to give it time. she may not forgive herself for staying with you for so long, and it might be killing her inside.


however, again, you need to change. it doesn’t matter if she wants you back or forgives you, you need to work on you. therapy, anger management, etc.


i must say, you are one lucky SOB to have a girl stick by your side and not report you.

As someone whos dealing with a situation somewhat like this , if your willing to change and stop the violence and verbal abuse. Then you should reach out , maybe she wants to hear back from you. Personally coming from someone who was in the same situation as her , i miss my ex so damn much just hoping he will change. If your not willing to change and just continue to excuse yourself with “ its what i grew up around” everytime …. Im sorry but move on. Anyone and everyone will tell her “ dont go back” “ i wouldent go back” “ you can find better” but in reality its so EASY to talk and say “ i would find someone better if i were you” until your in the situation yourself where your actually in love with the person. Go back for the right reasons , if its because you dont wanna see her with anyone else LET HER GO. If you really love her , and are willing to stop the childish hitting and verbal abuse (that shit fucks with us girls) and love her properly this time around. By all means try to fix things i hate to be the asshole but this was your fuck up at least try okay?

1) Different people will say different things for different reasons, so do whatever you think is best. Not “best” for you, but best for her and best for the “friendship”. If you do what’s best for you and not best for her than all that shows is that you haven’t changed.

If I were in her shoes and you reached out to me immediately after i I unblocked you, I’d probably block you again right away. I’m sure it’s painful, but pain is a good teacher.

Well she doesn’t pay me any mind yea she unblocked me but she hasn’t did as much as even like a post, comment or message me since she has so it’s like she has given up on me but is sort of moving past what I did without the intent of wanting me back.
