Suppose I've been married. My wife and I have been together for 18 years, and raising 3 beautiful children together. But then my stupid self had an affair with another woman. As a result of my adultery, my wife divorced me, most likely never taking me back. I messed up big time. I lied to my wife and kids. I forgive myself of course. But I've proven myself untrustworthy.
