Remove your ex off social media or let them see how you're doing?

Which option would you pick if you wanted to show your ex you have moved on, make them jealous, want you back, whatever. Would you (A) remove them from your social media to make them wonder how you're doing or (B) let them see what you are up to.

My friends and I were discussing it and had very different views so want to know what the majority think. :)

I'm not the type of person who posts a loto on social media but in the past when I broke up with my ex I didn't remove him from social media but I deleted instagram from my phone for a whole month because I needed to disconnect from social media for a bit while I was hurting and healing.

I've never cared. They can look if they want to, as long as they aren't being rude or hung up on me or what I'm doing. I've never had that happen, and I've never deleted exs out of my life because my break-ups have not been crazy and neither have they. I had one ex I would occasionally look at his social media, but he was also friends with my friends already.

Depends on how you broke up. If you broke up amicably and have a mutual respect/friendship with one another then there’s no harm in staying friends on social media.


If the breakup was a shit show then cut em off. You’ll just invite negativity and drama in your life otherwise.

Completely depends on you, if you feel that having them will make you want to stalk them then remove and block them. Out of sight, out of mind. If you are doing well than they will get to know, no need to advertising it over social media.

Depends how bad we fell off. If it’s bad then yes I need no contact or reminders in order to heal. If i was ghosted or mutual then I stay followed. The mentality I keep in mind is that I want them to know I wasn’t affected and hurt enough to block and that they should see my life going fine with and without them. Wether they really care or not but it’s self affirmation for me

I would remove anyone that isn't part of my life, so that includes my ex. But I don't use social media in the first place.

My ex still follows me on two of my accounts. If she didn't want to see, she'd unfollow. And I don't care if she sees what's going on with me, so I haven't blocked her.

I'd rather remove myself from social media dump Facebook Twitter etc and throw away this damn phone to and go back to talking to people face to face, that way you can still slap them in the face
