Very strange thing happens involving an ex?

I dated this woman for about a year and a half we grew apart we both decided it was a good idea to stop dating one day I'm going through my Snapchat and I haven't talked to her in months and she sent me a hateful spiteful email out of nowhere kind of childish stuff what do you think happened

Maybe she was getting things off her chest. I’ve seen several people on here post about what a hard time they’re having post-breakup because they wish they’d told their ex’s how they felt when they had the chance. Like if the ex cheated, was a narcissist, paid them no attention, etc, they wish they’d vocalized their hurt rather than walk away letting them ex feel faultless.

Quite possible I was just surprised I thought we ended things on a good note I was just surprised to get such a hateful text

I don't know her personality, or the dynamic you two had so I could be way off, but if she was soft spoken or didn’t really speak her mind to you, then honestly I wouldn’t be surprised. Like I had an ex who was so mean to be leading up to the split, and sure we argued here and there but I never really said how I felt because in my mind he acted as though he was never wrong, or did really want to talk about those things. So when we split, luckily I didn’t have regrets but I easily could’ve been like your ex and sent a scathing email afterwards. Honestly though I don’t think it was the best idea for your ex to send that months later. The time to do that would been a few days or even a week or two after. Now it just seems very resentful and provoking.
