My husband and my dad had an argument... now he's acting weird... is he giving up on me?

The argument was about him getting his self together because a baby is on the way. After the argument.. me and my husband was talking and he was telling me that he never change his character and that he likes to stay a happy person. Than he talked about how I been up and down and emotional. We have a 1 year old and one on the way. (I'm pregnant) So I just said, "fine blame it on me" he sent me this text.

Him:Since u can't stay in character I'm going to be whatever they call me. Let them be right. I can't deal with dysfunction. I'm sorry the issues are to much

Me:Bye

Him:Whatever direction u choose I will be happy for u. I will be there for the kids. If anybody be ignorant let them stay ignorant. True scripture

Me: Ok move on

What it sounds like is he’s basically saying that he is who he is and doesn’t plan on changing, so if that isn’t good enough for you then he respects your choice to leave him. If you leave he will still be there for the kids (as he should). However what your dad said may be something to truly consider. He’s also a man, so he may be seeing things about your BD that you aren’t seeing. He isn’t asking the world of your BD, just to do better, as a parent with a family to provide for. I get that this is your man, but sometimes women don’t pick the right guy to fill that father role, and you certainly shouldn’t stay with someone for the sake of “keeping the family together” — kids care about your happiness, not a dysfunctional family.
