Well, in my opinion I think you just need to say thank you and that's it but if he tries to start a conversation please ignore him. I have a question for you donyou still love him? Cause that matters a lot.

Okay so what I think you should do is thank him and then see if he tries to start a conversation again bc maybe that means he miss you and he still not over you. Guys are somehow weird no kidding. But if a guy wanna start a conversation again there's many chances that he still not over you.

Gotcha. Well if you want to be polite you can say thanks, but you already know that’s just a gateway for him to either initiate conversation or expect you to engage. Personally I wouldn’t say anything. I know it’s easier said than done when you really love someone, but men don’t understand words, they understand no contact. If he’s the one who left, then I’d let him get a real taste of what life is like without me. I wouldn’t say anything unless he was showing real change. Otherwise, he has nothing new to say, and it’ll be the same story, same result, only you’ll be more angry with yourself for giving him another chance.
