How much time should I give him? it has been two days since we seen each other?

Well he might be one of those people who needs time alone from time to time but when these people try to reach out you better answer.. he probably thinks you don't want the relationship and is trying to cope with the new situation.. if you want him don't be like that and go tell him or you'd regret not doing so

And for gods sake don't break up as soon as you faced hardships.. you either want somebody or you don't.. no on off relationship ever lasted long

Did you agree on how long you would be taking a break and if you were allowed to text during the break?

No he just said he need some time and I agreed to but he had texted me but will text once and no more for hours

because you're on a break... if you two didn't discuss the time limit of this break, then maybe it's a permanent thing.

Well, if you're on a break, you can't expect daily messages. Don't let it get longer than three days, though, even if you have to double text.
