How do you explain to a child why their biological father is absent?

My child's dad wants no part in our child's life. He is even going as far as moving overseas so that he doesn't have to be in the child's life and so he doesn't have to pay any kind of child support. I tried my best to get him to want a relationship with our child. To no avail. How do I explain to my child why their father is absent from their life?

Your ex’s apparent selfishness and irresponsibility has put you in a very difficult position where there might not be a perfect time to tell your child. Whatever you chose, be confident in your decision and try not to give too much credence to other people’s opinions of your decisions. People love to criticize and tend to be very ignorant AND opinionated (a horrible-but-common combination). You’ll probably hear 100 opinions from the same number of people, and everyone will have their own idea about how to handle this. Talk to a few trusted people - people who will listen more than they talk. Try not to let fear make your decisions.

I do tend on be honest with our child. I have kept text messages and emails that were sent from the both of us Including evidence of me pleading for him not to abandoned our baby. I'm definitely not innocent and I won't hide that from anyone or will I claim I am innocent or a victim.

Ok so was this an actual relationship or did mom hook up w some dude that’s why she’s knocked up?

Not a random person. This is someone I was seeing for over 5 years. This was also not a planned pregnancy as I was told I was infertile and could never have kids by the doctor which is on my medical files showing this. So no This wasn't some random dude who i got knocked up by or was it me trying to baby trap anyone.
