While this didn't get me completely over her it sure helped but then the one I was with flipped out because I met up with the one I was trying to get over and I couldn't handle her crazy ass so I took her and dropped her off at these apartments by where I live and she wanted half my bag and I said bitch this is my bag and she went off to rehab, the one I was trying to get over and I got back together and here I am 7 years later and trying to get over her again but we just decided to be fuck buddies so we will see how this is gonna go.

Don't get stuck wearing rose tinted lenses. Try to remember the reasons why it didn't work and come to terms with the fact that you can't change the other person. I don't think there is an easy way. Unless the person is suffering from ASPD a human can't switch attractions off and on like a light switch. Let me give an example of why this is. My mother loved chicken sandwiches. She had several favorite places to go have one. Last time I was in Georgia I visited one. I did not even have my mom on my mind that day. When I looked up I saw my mom's favorite table and could see her sitting at that table. When you have an attachment to someone, regardless of the connection. You can't go to places or do things without having a memory ramrod its way into your thoughts. I went through this with my girlfriend Terri back in the early 80s. I still see things 40 years later that remind me of her. Just make new memories, it is a long process, but you can't live in the past even though the past will do its best to screw with your head.

Once I thought that talking to other guys would probably help me move on...

But it actually didn't.

Only thing that helped, was time.

I stopped talking to them, stopped looking at their social media and everything that would remind me of them.

And even though I was talking to other people, trying to get busy with studies, stopped talking to them, started spending more time with family, etc...

Even though I was doing all of that, I'd still find myself feeling sad or empty once again.

Only thing that helped me, was time.

The method to get over someone, will solely depend on how much you used to like them and on how much time u both used to spend together.

Give yourself time to mourn, lean on your support network, and dive headlong into working through the emotions.

By not avoiding my feelings, I'm usually able to get over long relationships (3-6 years) in 6 months.

Part of it is also acknowledging and recognizing the good times, learning from the bad, and reconnecting with myself.

Get back to your old self, do the things you stopped doing after you met them. Do the things you wanted to do but they weren't up for.
